Cream Separator

This was donated to the museum by Joe and Marge Jackson.

The cream separator is a fascinating device that efficiently extracts cream from milk using a method known as centrifugal separation.

Within the device, milk is whirled vigorously inside a cylindrical drum, creating powerful centrifugal force.

This force causes the lighter cream and fat particles to move outward against the walls of the drum.

Once this process is complete, the cream collects along the edges, where it can be easily scraped off, leaving behind the remaining liquid milk.
