Kevin Dunn Declaration of Candidacy

Conflict of Interest

Kevin Dunn - An ancient proverb states, “May you live in interesting times.” I can unequivocally say that we do. I moved to Monticello, UT in 1997 for the small-town atmosphere and small government, as well as deep family ties. I have served as a City council member for the past four years and have experienced first-hand how governmental processes can erode personal freedoms. I strongly feel that a government, “For the people, of the people, and by the people” is essential to maintain a free and prosperous community. As mayor, if elected, my plan is to be available to the public by keeping regular, scheduled office hours several times each week. I would be available to communicate with and respond to the community’s needs, as well as to be accessible to city employees. Conversation with the people of Monticello is key to guiding community direction. Communication is the salient feature of maintaining neighborly cohesion and rapport. Monticello is at a critical juncture in terms of growth and longevity. We need to work together to build the community WE want to live in. It would be an honor to play a role in strengthening the future of Monticello.
