Landfill

 Monticello Landfill Hours
 May - September: Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 Tuesday 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
 October - April: Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Payment accepted: Cash or Check

The landfill is divided into areas that meet specific requirements for dumping. They are Landfill, Transfer Bin, Metal, and Yard Waste.

- If prohibited wastes are not segregated, the ENTIRE load must be put in the transfer bin. You will be charged the transfer bin fee.

- If you request landfill use after operational hours, you will be charged an escort fee of $25 on top of normal fees. Landfill use outside of normal hours is limited to employees' availability.  

Lithium Batteries may be taken to Home Depot for disposal. Do not throw them away in household trash or bring them to the landfill. They will not be accepted.

Paint cans may be disposed of at the landfill if the paint has been dried out thoroughly.

Railroad Ties

Asphalt/concrete from roads and other surfaces

Oil

Car Batteries

Paint unless thoroughly dried out

Contaminated soils which includes soils from the excavation of underground storage tanks unless the soil meets rule R315-315-8

 
 ANY LARGE LOADS OR MULTIPLE LOADS MUST BE APPROVED BY MONTICELLO CITY PRIOR TO BEING TAKEN OUT TO THE LANDFILL

Refer to the Community Calendar for Landfill days and the yearly Free Dump month.

Free dump month is only for Monticello City garbage account holders. 

During the specified month garbage account holders will be allowed one (1) free dump which consists of household trash only, all other items will be regular price.
